When the devil tempts the Christian, he is inviting him or her to a settle for a lesser life. The lies he tells promise to provide more, but actually, they deplete the Christian of spiritual authority and the sense of responsibility. But in Jesus, we see One who was in every way tempted as we are, yet he was without sin. As we look to our Savior, we share in his great victory over temptation.
