Part 9: Knowing God

By William Carrol

March 3, 2006

Ultimately speaking what Jesus had in mind with regard to the sacrifice He made on Calvary besides the precious gift of forgiveness would be to know God. God wanted to forgive us so that He might embrace us so that we are no longer separated from His presence. It was not enough for God that we avoid His wrath but that we enjoy His pleasure and person. The chief end of the cross of Jesus Christ and final purpose of what Jesus did for us on Calvary is that we would be intimately acquainted with God.
